about lucia goodman

Lucia is a weaver by training, but her practice extends into natural dyeing, stitching, and assemblage, all rooted in a deep interest in material storytelling. She explores how materials hold embedded histories and how, when combined, they can form new narratives and identities.

Working primarily with natural fibres such as wool, silk, and cotton, she also incorporates embellishments sourced from second-hand vendors and flea markets. These found elements carry their own pasts, contributing layers of meaning to the work.

Since graduating from the Textile Design course at Central Saint Martins in 2024, she has been based in her studio in North West London. Currently, she is focusing on creating handcrafted accessories, wall hangings, and furnishings. Each piece is individually woven on her loom, then further developed with hand-finished embellishments.

Through these processes, she creates tactile objects that communicate through their very construction, thread beside thread, forming stories in physical form.

Presently, she works as a Production Assistant at SAGES London; a start up pioneering biochemical dyeing which derives colour compounds from food waste.
